How to be a succesful English Teacher at junior High School.

I think teacher who always think students deeply will succes as a junior high school English teacer.
When I was a second grade in junior high school,my English teacher starated lessons with a hearing quiz which are English songs with a paper which has lyric of the song.
That was very interesting for us and we could enjoy the class.
And ofcourse, our hearing level are improved I think.
I thought weather we can make students think English is fun or not is a one of the point of deviding good teacher or not.
He changed some students who don't like English becoming join the English class positively.

And his explanation was also good for learning so,I think he knew the way to explain students easy to get to understand.
I couldn't find the way to explain first grade students intterogative which is commonly said 'Do(Does)~?'
I want to get to know the ways to teach students with understandable.

☆A Combination Concert in Marios☆

Hallo!
Today, I went to the 48th combination concert which is held by the university of Iwate music circle league...Chorus,Orchestra,Sankyokubu,music for wind instrument and Mandolin.
It was very after a long time for me to go to the music concert, so I could enjoyed it very much!!

In the first program,every groups performed one by one.
And resting time of each performance at intervals,mandolin played some songs or Orchestra played jazz and so on...Very good performance!!!

In the latter program,Sankyokubu,Chorus and Orchestra played ''Hayao Miyazaki animated cartoon theme song medley'' together. Music for wind instrument and Mandolin played ''Whole new world'' and ''Ribel tango'' together.And last,every five froups played ''Time To Say Goodbye'' together.
These jopint performance was sooooooo nice because it was very very good to listen the musics with other instruments's tone from the originals.I found musics have deeeep potential to express each songs.

I think Nakki, Kanage and Micche should go to the concert to listen to.(we went to the university to prepare for the class,Ibunkarikai)

☆☆The reflection of today's class☆☆

Hallo☆
I had a class of how to teach grammars to junior high school students!!
Today,I write about that!

First, our teacher told us that grammar instruction should has the following...
①Form
②Meaning
③Pragmatic
To explain what that are, in today's lesson had the topics of ''the ways of showing meaning'' and ''the presenting a structure.''

Before telling the content of today's lesson,I 'll tell you about of the last time.
In the last time lesson,we saw some structures which our teacher show some example to
confirm what grammar the sentences have.
That was the ①Form which we teach to students. We have to know what grammar the sentense has to teach.

Then in today's lesson,we learned that there are various way of telling grammar students in the first topic,''the ways of showing meaning.''
We can show the grammar ''~er than/not as...as,,,'' to students with big building and small post office or drowing long line and short line or compare the hight of two students in the class or drewing pictures and so on...
This topic has ②Meaning and ③Pragmatic when telling students.
The every above ways looks good way to understand the meaning of the grammar and when we use the grammar.
But if students feel umconfortable, that way become not good way.
Some people don't like to compared with other students in their hight if they have shyness especially, small male students like me may have such shyness.(I don't have any shyness of that.)

In second topic was ''presenting a structure.''In this topic,teacher showed us that some way of teaching grammars and made us think what order do we think the best.
I forgot to bring the paper to the class and forgot what I decide with my pair,but we talked each other,Asking the class repeat and asking individual students repeat should be done by set because for students,practicing time should be better if it is taken by one time.

I think my teacher's way of teaching is very easy to understand so I don' have any confuseness in this class.But I wonder why we can understand in spite of this speaking English.
When I performed ALT in this class, it was very difficult for me to talk to students by English.
Of course he've been teacher for many years on the other hand I am a student , this point is exist, I want to learn the way of teaching from not only him but also other teachers too.

♪♪Reflection of the vocablary lesson with Micchan

Hallo☆
I did a vocabulary lesson with Micchan.Today, I write about it.

①What we did for our lesson
We met for three times and talked each other how to make the lesson.
We first decide what the lesson is, and to make teaching plan.
After the deciding,we made pictures for each vocablaries and the aim of the lesson.
Next day,Micchan make the lesson plan ,I made the word card(some thinking and Nami altered) we paint the pictures and practiced the lesson.
And the that day,we printed the lesson plans we distuributed to students!
②What our students did during the lesson
Some people was very clever so, they answered cleary and rightly.
Almost people consulted to others what the right answer is during the word quiz to all the students in the class.
Some people can't pronounce rightly so, we had to help them...
③The strenghts and weakeness of our lesson.
The strenghts
Students could understand what they do during the lesson rightly because Micchan told students what studets do in Japanese.
All students could practice the pronanciation of the words they studied.
We could practice to use the new words in the conversation with others in the interview activity.
The weakness
Our lesson took very long especially,students have many waiting time during the practicing the pronunciation time.
I thought practice all students is very difficult in one class one by one.If we want to take such style, we have to think other way to do.

I thought practicing the sentence which I talk to students while lesson is very important.
I couldn't talk rightly so I made Micchan upset while our lesson.

Last, I thank to Micchan that as you are very clever so we could do the lesson by that level...

the Prosent and Learn Approach vs. Teaching through Input Approach

We had a class about Teaching Vocablary through Input in last Friday.
There are two ways to teach it, that are 'the Present and Learn Approach' and 'the Teaching through Input Approach. '

Today,I want to write about the strength and weekness of each approach for the first, and after that,witch approach I want to use if I am a junior high scool English teacher.

First, I write about the strength and weekness of each approach.

○Strengh
Students listen what the teacher telling with thinking the content of it very carefuly so,their listening ability can be improved.And they can understand what that is in as it was (they can catch the nuance of the word in English.)
○Weekness
Students can't understand if the teacher can't tell them in clearly,not with using the words they can understand.And also, some students may not be able to understand with listening,some students may not be able to understand with the teacher's talking for a long time so students feel boring.(this approach have short amount of acticity)
<Teaching through Input Approach>
○Strengh
Students can understand with various activities the teacher prepared for. So they are be able to input with having fun and using English(If they can't use English properly, they can notice which point they don't understand with themselves)
○Weekness
For students whose character is shy, this approach isn't suitable because the activity is very important in this approach but they can't do it positively.

They can understand with presentation of the teacher or with acticivites the teacher prepared for but there are no writing work in these. Power point tell us checking their knowkledge is also important and I think so too.So, I think writing work is needed to both approaches and I want to checking thire knowledge with writing.(May be someone and say that'It is something like a test!I hate tests!-Laugh)

Second,I write about which approach I want to use if I am a junior high school teacher.
The answer to this question is 'Presnt and Learn Approach.'
I have some reasons for choosing this approach.
I think there are a little opprtunity for students to improve their listening ablity.
I think listening is very important because we catch Enflish with hearing for the first
and think what they say and think and after that get meanings of the sentence and use the Enflish finaly.
And also students think what I say very carefully because if they don't hear, they'll be confuse to study. Keeping listening and thinking for a long time is very difficult to students but I want them they'll be able to stnad to listen to Enflish.
Of course, I don't teach students in this approach always. I think we have to use the methd the most match to students and it is the most important and difficult to choose. To do it without any confuse, we have to know who they are in daily life.

Communicative activities

Hi☆
Today, I write about two communicative activities presented to us in the class of my university.
If we have a English class to teach children, there are a lot of way to teach.
One of the way were the communicative activities.

The first one was ''Information Gap'' which give different information to two person that which have one have information A but don't have B,and the other have information B but don't have A.
I had this activity fun but that was because I know how to tell the other without any examples to tell the other in English.
I think teacher want to point us only the example of the method because that was the topic.
So I don't make out this perpose is the truly the improvement, but I think we should point a lot of the example of how to tell the other the information exactly.
And this is a improvement I think, if childran make this quiz with theirself, that is very fun.
Making is very difficult because they can't write if they con't understand truly.
So,teacher have to do more support to children but students can have fun and understand deeply.

The second one was ''Interview'' which...are...example, children decide a sentence from some choice to make a sentence interview to others and after the interview time, present the result that they can find out the one who make the same sentense.
I think this activity is very easy way to practice talking with others.
If I improve this activity,I want all students interview to others but there are some students whose character is 'not positive.' For such students this activity can't do so nicely.
So, for the first time we practice with a few time to do the interview and then,make a number to do the interview and when we the interview, not only do 'with anyone you like'but also 'you have to do these person.'
Ofcourse, I don't think we have to do this activity like this everytime but I think we have to think the situation like this...

And last this is a very personal impression to the interview activity...I don't have fun when I did it,
Because I couldn't find the person who have the same idea.
So, I propose that we do this avtivity for the early time in one lesson and make students to find out the same sentense absolutely and make a pair to attend(do?) the lesson with.
After that activity and propose another activity, children can talk with person who haven't talked with.

Something important for me...

When I was young, my mother bought me many picture books and used to read to me so often.
Thanks to that, I like reading very much.
Especially, I like fiction novels because I can imagine the world in that book and to become a hero, wizard and so on!
Imaging make me feel interesting and that is the nice point of those. We can imagine freely(no one can distablish us!) and to be one of the person(sometimes not a heman) and talk, laugh, cry with the people in that warld.
They tell me many things that I don' t know and useful ideas so I remember it in that world and back to the real world, I can use that to live more confortable.
I can't imagine that there are no books in this world and if there are books, I want to read and get many thing interested me in my whole life.
